#011 Workflow Engine
HELLO ...
It seems like the summer has come and gone here in Iceland, it's windy and rainy outside, and if I didn't know better (based on all the graduations we are invited to over this weekend), I would think the fall is here again ...
SO FAR ...
This week has been mostly research, little actual coding. I have been reading up on the Google Workflow engine, thinking of ways I can integrate Google Workflows into basic Itsy functionality and how I can let my future clients customize their own workflows using the Integrations they have set up.
I think I am finding a way to allow my clients to customize their workflows in a very optimized way, having the extremely strong backbone of the Google Workflow engine running behind the scenes, making the operation of them very safe, efficient and fully managed by Google.
Doing things this way means a great reduction in complexity within Itsy, allowing me to use available components ready to integrate into any solution.
SO NEXT ...
At the end of next week I want to have at least one workflow working and running on the devleopment workspace in Itsy. I want it to handle things like sending an email to a customer (through an external integration), calculating stats for the workspace and recalculating the participant list for an availability item in a trip.
That is at least the goal for now, and hopefully by setting a specific goal now, I can work towards it during the week and see where I end up.
